How to book safely during the Covid-19 Pandemic
We understand that some readers may be wary of booking Airbnb’s during the pandemic. We get it, we’re wary too.
Thankfully, Airbnb has responded to traveller concern by introducing and Enhanced Cleaning protocol. In a nutshell, Airbnb have partnered with experts to create detailed guidelines for hosts to follow to ensure their properties are as clean as they possibly can be. This should help guests feel more at ease during this stressful time.

Artists Home & The Owl House
Hightown, Merseyside
This wonderful space, constructed at the end of an artist’s garden overlooks sand dunes and out towards the Irish Sea through a 3 metre window. Either side of the door are circular windows that give the Owl House its unique name & form. If you like long walks, this place is a beach combers paradise with immediate access to the beach. This a perfect retreat for artists, writers & anyone requiring a little RNR!
Guests sleep in a private room inside the artist’s home (which is full of amazing art pieces), but has open access to the Owl House and the beautiful garden.
Nearby is Anthony Gormley’s ‘Another Place’ art installation, 100 iron men spaced across a 3.2km (2 mile) stretch of Crosby Beach. Liverpool city centre is also very easily accessible.

Luxury Glamping Tipi
Priors Hardwick, Warwickshire
A luxury glamping Tipi with a wood-fired bath tub on the banks of the Oxford Canal. The Tipi is set in the middle of a 450-acre working family farm, with lots to see and do in all directions. The cosy bed has a thick duvet and hot water bottles to keep you warm, along with a wood burning stove inside the tent.
Outside are wooden deckchairs and a fire pit where you can BBQ and toast marshmallows. Cooking facilities are provided in our converted vintage horse trailer by the tipi.

Immaculate Hideaway
Liverpool, Merseyside
You’ll be blown away by this recently renovated two-bedroom apartment. It’s in Liverpool’s famous Georgian Quarter, with an abundance of pubs, bars, restaurants, cafés, theatres and concert venues right around the corner.
You’ll have your own entrance, via a secure and secluded garden down a few historic steps which take you into the well-appointed kitchen. The entire place has a light and airy feel and the master bedroom, which comes with its own en-suite bathroom and a beautiful south-facing courtyard, has an exotic opulence.

Modern detached house
Alfreton, Derbyshire
A home away from home, assuming your actual home is a large, detached new-build. Set in a small, quiet neighbourhood. On the edge of the Peak district. 15 minutes from Derby and Chesterfield. Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath (27 minutes away). Bakewell. Without wanting to detract from what is a comfortable and well-appointed home, this property greatest selling point is the plethora of nearby tourist attractions.

Cosy Cottage
Wellesbourne, Warwickshire
A cosy, one bedroom Victorian cottage on a quiet lane in the old part of Wellesbourne village. There’s a private garden to relax in, a newly refurbished pub a couple of doors down and even a village bakery just around the corner. You’ll be sharing this well-appointed cottage with the host’s friendly cat.

The Cheshire Coach House
Frodsham, Cheshire
A large, detached cottage set in the Cheshire countryside, great for walking, golfing holidays or a relaxing break. Inside the cottage is beautifully decorated and has everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. Outside, you can make use of the host’s garden.
The cottage is located on the Sandstone trail and well-known biking routes. It’s also close to Delamere Forest, Oulton Park, Cheshire Oaks, Frodsham Golf course and stacks of other outdoor activity centres.

The Yurt at Tithe Farm
Louth, Lincolnshire
A large yurt in a 2.4 hectare (6 acre) organic garden and nature reserve, set amidst quiet countryside and surrounded by trees, flowers and vegetables. There is a woodstove, which gets the place very warm in no time. Electricity is supplied, but the candle lanterns are more fun.
Outside the door is the yurt’s own lawn and round the back is an open air bathroom, suitably screened with a living bamboo thicket. A large iron bath, set in earth, is heated by a wood-fire below. You can soak for as long as you like with the water remaining hot.

The Granary
Preston, Kent
A self-contained annex with shower room and small kitchenette. The property is situated in a secluded spot at the end of the host’s garden in the Kent village of Preston. The space is open-plan with a comfortable double bed and a log burning stove. Guests are welcome to make use of the garden.
Preston is about 16km (10 miles) from the historic city of Canterbury with its world-famous cathedral, universities, shops and restaurants.

The Dairy Cottage
Burscough, West Lancashire
A single-storey self catering cottage, set upon the host’s 18th-century non-working Farm. The home will accommodate two people and is ideally suitable for guests with minor mobility issues.
The lounge and the kitchen area are combined, creating a cosy feeling. There’s a flat screen TV with a DVD player, a dining table & chairs and a comfy sofa to sink into.
The bedroom has an en suite bathroom and features patio doors with access to the patio and beautiful gardens.

Located on the edge of a tiny hamlet with wonderful views of uninterrupted pasture and woods is this spacious shepherds hut. Inside, you’ll find a fitted kitchen with everything you need to rustle up a meal, you’re own shower, loo and wash basin, a wood burning stove for those chilly evenings and a double bed. In the morning, a continental breakfast hamper, packed with delicious goodies, is brought to your door by the host.
There are plenty of great countryside walks to enjoy nearby and Longleat Safari Park is practically adjacent.
