In this video, we’re visiting Moulay Idriss, a small town spread over two hills at the base of Mount Zerhoun in Morocco.
The town is famous for being the site of the tomb of Idris the first, the first major islamic ruler of Morocco. Due to its holy status, non-muslims were not able to visit the town until 1912 and weren’t able to stay overnight until as recently as 2005. On our walking tour, we visit a community oven, see carpenters at work, visit the main market and explore the narrow residential alleyways.
